You know the medical people and their drugs kill thousands of Americans every day in this country, but these guys are quick to jump on herbal remedies and supplements as dangerous and hazardous to the American people. A few years ago they managed to create so much noise over the use of Chaparral Herb due to a couple of cases that they claim got liver toxicity from it's use. (After careful investigation, I found out both these people had liver problems to start with). The natural supplement industry was sent a memo about this from the FDA and because they are so paranoid, they pulled all the Chaparral from the shelves. I wrote the FDA and asked them if they were banning it and they said no, so we were the only ones selling it in the country for a while. Chaparral Herb by the way is one of the only herbs to be documented by mainstream science as a tumor reducing herb. Then when Stevia (the herbal sweetener) came out they tried to ban that and actually seized books that people had written about Stevia. This was a blatant attack from the Aspartame manufacturers that did not want the competition. Since then, Stevia has been allowed to be sold, as they could not prove any toxicity. Lately there has been the Kava Kava scare. Liver damage again reported in Germany. No details on the patient, just reporting that it is the Kava Kava. Well, this is another bunch of lies. Kava Kava is very safe and very effective and the Pharmaceutical people that make the antidepression drugs don't want the competition. No banning of the herb in the US, just a lot of press trying to scare everyone into not buying it. Most recent is an outward assault on Ephedra. Ephedra is very safe when used as directed. It has been a hall mark herb used by the Chinese Physicians for thousands of years. But the mainstream press is saying President Bush is working to have it banned. Ephedra is used to treat asthma, weight loss and as a brain stimulator. Granted some people are sensitive to Ephedra as it is potent and does have the ability to speed up the metabolism. If you take too much you can get jittery, but it is not permanently harmful. It is like drinking a little too much coffee. It is contraindicated for people with heart problems, but I will say that many heart problems are caused by too much fat! Other countries have flat outlawed some herbs. St. John's Wort for example can't be shipped to Canada, and recently they also banned amino acids! A year or so ago they actually scared the women in this country into not taking St. John's Wort capsules for depression, by telling them it negated birth control pills! People this is just insane, but unfortunately many people are still taking what is spewed out across their TV screens as the absolute truth. I am telling you again... it is LIES!!! As you know we sell a great deal of Dr. Chi's products from China. Understand that China is the world leader in knowledge and information about natural medicine. Recently the US press announced another scare tactic. "All Chinese herbs could be possibly contaminated!" You have to see what they are doing here. I have saved many many lives with our Chinese medicinals and have learned a great deal from studying Chinese Medicine. Did they ban the Chinese herbs coming into the US? No... Just press releases to scare you into not using them. If you stop, they win!

My point here and I hope you are getting this, is that when you hear or see these claims in the media about the dangers of these herbal products you won't automatically take them as gospel. All of the herbs that they have been attacking have been used for centuries and in most cases this is just scare and fear tactics with no solid research at all behind it. Isolated cases that they blow up way out of proportion to further their pharmaceutical drug cartels. So far, they have not managed to ban a thing.
