DEALING WITH A HIGH FEVER NATURALLY
Recently I had the pleasure of handling two very severe and dangerously high adult patients with fevers. One was topped out at 104 degrees and the second one at 105 degrees. These temperatures are dangerously high and have to be handled correctly and without delay. Both these people had contracted some type of viral infection. It started with complete body aches, severe sore throats and a very high fever.

Even though a fever is the bodies natural defense against invading organisms, fevers can get too high and cause brain damage and even death. I like to keep them under control at no more than 101 degrees. The first thing that is of critical importance is to bring that fever down to a non-dangerous level as fast as possible. I use Bayer Aspirin. I never use the other brands of pharmaceuticals, only Bayer. You might want to note that I only use Bayer Aspirin on children as well. It has been my experience that these other products on the market can have some toxic side effects and I have even seen them cause rashes, so I have always just used plain Aspirin. You can also add in the HHA Natural Relief capsules as well. Of critical importance when dealing with high fevers is that you keep the person monitored at all times. I did not hear about these temperatures until they had them. You must have a thermometer in your houses at all times and the person's temperature should be taken every hour. Fever reducing agents usually work for 3-4 hours, so it is imperative that you watch to see if the fever is going back up and give the person some more. People with high fevers should not be left alone, as they can fall asleep and their temperature could rise without them knowing it or they can also pass out and hurt themselves.

Usually people with these high temperatures are feeling very cold and do not want to get into a cool bath. This can make it a little difficult, but you must insist that they have one. Keep them in a cool bath for 10 minutes or so and then wrap them up and put them to bed. Put ice cloth on their heads until the fever comes down to under 101. The brain must be protected with high fevers. With high fevers like this, all solid food should be held, and they should be given only liquids. I add Colloidal Silver - 1/2 teaspoon, 2 droppers of Olive Leaf Liquid and a tablespoon of Adult Sambucol to every drink. Clear soda, like Gingerale and Sprite can be used or orange juice is excellent if there is congestion. If the person is not thirsty and won't drink, give them a bag of salty potato chips to munch on and this will get them drinking. Keep the person calm and comfortable and let them sleep if they want to, but do wake them up on the hour to monitor the temperature. They should also be given a laxative to help move the infection through the body. Of course, this is assuming that this type of infection has not already produced a diarrhea condition, and then there would be no need for the laxative. Also give 1 tablespoon of 4-Herb Concentrate in a little water once or twice a day and a dose of Asparagus Extract - 1 cup, in the evening. This will keep the liver and kidneys from getting overly toxic due to the infection. If this continues for a couple of days, it is important also to supplement a green food to provide the necessary nutrients the body needs to fight the infection. I use the GFS capsules and Chlorella. I also give Beta Glucans - 2 caps - 3 three times a day to help the body fight the infection too. Most fevers will break in a day or so. You can tell the fever has broken because the person will become soaking wet with sweat. This is a good sign and after that the body temperature will begin to return to normal. If a high fever persists for more that 2 days, then the Ginger bath is something that I recommend. This will help the body break the fever.

GINGER BATH TO BREAK A FEVER
You must follow the instructions exactly. Put 3 tablespoons of powdered Ginger Root in 2 cups of water, bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes. Water should be brown. Now run a warm bath (not cool) and add the ginger and the water. Do not strain it. Put the person in the bath for 10 minutes and then quickly towel dry them and wrap them up like a mummy in a clean white sheet and put them to bed and let them go to sleep. Cover them up good with lots of blankets. Make sure the sheet is wrapped all around them and they are naked.. T hey will likely wake up soaking wet from the fever breaking.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
You also must understand that when a person is this sick, they may be hard to get along with, non-cooperative and unusually difficult. It is YOUR job to stay centered and not take it personally and be supportive, gently guiding them through the above protocol. I am not joking when I say it, it is hard to get a shivering adult into a cool bath, but you must stay calm and be gently insistent. Don't get angry as this does not help the sick person. Handling these situations require YOUR patience, diligence and maturity.

I have handled these types of fevers all my adult life ranging from small children to adults and my family and patients have always come through fast and without lingering side-effects from the infections. Note: Younger children tend to run higher fevers than adults, but these also must be taken very seriously and handled quickly.

FIBROMYALGIA & CFS
